This bold geometric residence made by GGLL Atelier architects is situated in Portugal on the Northern outskirts of Lisbon. It is a modern 3 bedroom dream residence that was created for a family of 4. This hillside residence appears as the layering of a white volume atop a grey volume. The slant of the roof, which correlates with the wall, echoes the incline of the hill. Although in juxtaposition, the grey base volume nestles neatly into the hillside. The house is actually in an L-shape to shelter the patio from the winds that sweep across the adjacent golf course. The upper white level includes the living rooms, library, and bedrooms which are the most often utilized space in the house. The grey reduced level houses the garage, a cinema, game space and wine cellar. It also opens to the patio and pool regions. A terrance with wonderful views of the surrounding landscape is situated on the roof of the residence.
The interior of the residence retains the boldness of the exterior shape by way of a mostly black and white palette and rather masculine styling. The wood floor, supple black leather sofas and soft texture of the rug bring contrast and warmth to window lined the living area. The higher ceiling expresses the crisp lines of the exterior of the white volume and is accented with an angular modern light fixture.
On the reduce level, the lounge region opens out to the cleanly sculpted patio and pool area. As previously stated, this outside space is protected from the sturdy winds by the property itself, but further this layout also enables for elevated privacy for the patio and pool. This beautifully bold creation have to be a highlight of the golf course landscape on which it resides.
