Award-Winning Glen Mills Residence

This custom-designed home, which recently won a 2011 American Residential Design Award from the AIBD, is reminiscent of the Tudor style, and was created to meet the needs of any homeowner. From extra garage space to entry lockers, to a main floor equipped for entertaining, the Glen Mills is a home that gracefully couples style with functionality.

The inviting front entry leads to the living room and hearth area. Pocket doors lead to the attached study, while columns separate the living room from the dining and kitchen areas. Ample counter space and seating make the kitchen the center of the home, and the ideal place for entertaining guests.

There is no lack of sleeping space, either. A large upstairs master suite includes a full bath, sitting area and walk-in closet. Also on the upper level are three guest bedrooms and a full guest bathroom.

This home was built by Infiniti Custom Homes.

love the vibrant color combos and furniture mix in this contemporary home.

i don't consider myself especially talented when it comes to vignettes, so i appreciate a beautifully styled bedside table as much as anyone.

lighting || on a house hunt

so, husband and i are on the hunt for a new home. we're one for 50 so far. someone snuck in and beat us to the punch a couple of weeks ago, and i'm sort of sick over it because the house was nearly perfect, but i know that it just means there's a better one out there. blah blah blah.

last weekend, we actually looked at a house across the street from the home i grew up in. weird, right? well, it was weird. i'm not sure the house had been touched since it was built in the 70s. which, honestly, is what i'm wishing for so we i can update it to our my taste, but this one was a little too craaaaazy.

everything except the light fixtures, that is. i was absolutely obsessed with every last one of them! obsessed.

don't you feel like that chandelier is begging for some fancy red wallpaper, velvet drapes, an ornate moroccan table with big upholstered armchairs on either end, a mismatched set of vintage decanters on the barcart and gold accents dripping everywhere? i don't even like red and i'd still honor this chandelier with the room it deserves. i wish you could have seen how it sparkled.

wish i liked it enough to buy that crazy house. the search continues . . .

The I Am Project :: Our wish is to affirm and inspire the beauty in every woman, to celebrate the uniqueness in each of us, as well as the commonalities that unite us as women. We want to create a space to confront the dark places that come with growth; to witness women being valued for more than their bodies, clothes, or societal projections; to feel inspired by stories and images; and to become more deeply rooted in who we are as women. We want to become a net of resources that will nurture and fortify each other's confidence, and fill women with awareness of the extraordinary beauty that each of us uniquely brings to the world.
