Blake House In London Photographed By 1st Selection

The decor of this dream house is a brilliant mix of contemporary design complimented by tufted softness and a soothing palette. The Blake House was photographed by 1st Selection. The interior of this residence is lively and energetic with a charming vibrance that I am confident is the reflection of the residents. This is a 3 level London property with a mezzanine bathroom on the third level. The residence features a total of 5 bedrooms, 3 of which have en suite baths. The living, dining and kitchen spaces are positioned on initial floor. There is a glass wall with French doors that separates the living room from the kitchen and dining places. It is bright and spacious and provides the visual sense of open program living.

The living main area has a neutral palette with a striking (Blue Morpho) Butterfly rug. I really like the tufted ottomans that reflect back to the blue hues identified in the rug and add a luxurious really feel to the room. The a variety of tones of the pillows on the couch are a soft accent against the bright white walls. The vibrant red upholstery of the dining area chairs and the modern day chandelier situated above the table add a dramatic spark to the uniformity of color inside the space. The modern kitchen style is sleek and streamlined with built in appliances and flat front cabinetry. The polished countertop is reflective  and adds to the sparkle of the area.

The second holds floor two bedrooms with en suite baths, a big bathroom, two further bedrooms, a frequent location and a laundry room. The frequent area stays true to the mainly white theme of the main living space, but with far much more lively accents which includes bold red rugs, spherical hanging chairs and silver Moroccan pouffes. There is a  large white sectional with red accent pillows and floor to ceiling bookshelves of the along the whole expanse of 1 wall. This space undoubtedly serves a much different purpose than the downstairs living space.

The third floor is comprised of the grand master bedroom suite with two bathrooms. The flooring on this level is dark and has an impactful contrast with the rest of the dwelling. The wall colour and furnishings retain the aesthetic of the rest of the property, which includes the floor to ceiling bookshelves along one particular wall of the area. On this level to the rear of the space is a bathroom with lovely sparkling chandelier over a huge soaking tub. A second bathroom with a seemingly more masculine flair is located on the mezzanine level.

The first bathroom adjacent to the bedroom maintains the white coloration located via the dwelling, while the second bathroom positioned on the mezzanine is a sharp contrast. The white walls unite the entire house and accents, such as pouffes are repeated on each and every level of the home. This wonderful modern day dwelling is clean and crispy. Its abundance of open space enables each and every decorative component to stand out to and be appreciated for its personal merits.

The Ampersand Hotel London – Victorian Architecture With Modern Day Whimsical Decor

The interior design of The Ampersand Hotel in London, England by Dexter Moren Associates is influenced by the museums nearby. This luxury hotel in South Kensington has 5 central themes — botany, music, geometry, ornithology and astronomy.

Constructed in 1888, The Ampersand Hotel is 1 of London’s original Victorian boutique hotels.

Victorian functions with contemporary designs are found in each of the 111 rooms which include oversized bed heads and original higher Victorian ceilings. The eclectic, whimsical decor characterizes this cosmopolitan hotel inside a Victorian constructing.

The designs are inspired by the the pattern of the V&A’s costume collection, the Science Museum’s planets and phials, the Organic History Museum’s ornithological drawings and the drama and ceremony of the Royal Albert Hall.

The public dining locations are created to serve all day dining with a versatile series of zones such as a snug with Victorian cellar arches.

A bespoke Ingo Maurer chandelier above the grand staircase creates a dramatic ceiling to floor statement as a single enters the lobby.
