The Perfect Furnishings For Your Kids’ Basketball Themed Room

Theres just something so fun about putting collectively a theme for a kids room, isnt there?  Particularly when theres some thing your kiddo is incredibly passionate about or has a powerful affinity for, be it a colour, a style or a diversion like reading, dancing or sports, theres a bonding opportunity that happens when the time comes to transition from a little kidarea to a big kid area.  Watching a kid give input on how theyd like their private space to present itself is one of the very first moments in which theyre genuinely in a position to express themselves in a visual way, second only to perhaps the moment when they start picking their personal outfits for the day.  For the young sports enthusiast, Brookstone has the ideal chair for a basketball themed room, or one devoted to football or baseball also, for that matter.  This effortless chair and ottoman set comes in two sizes the smaller chair ($138) spans 26 inches in length, 25 inches in width and 20 inches in height, even though the larger 1 is 33 inches long, 34 inches high and 26.5 inches wide.  Whether or not it fosters actual athletic ability is doubtful, but then once more, like the old adage says: its not about regardless of whether you win or drop its how you play the game.

Quirky Furnishings: The Mixtape Table From Jeff Skierka

Most of us over the age of 30 bear in mind the golden age of cassette tapes back when we were young, from the exciting of labeling our own mix tapes to the absolute frustration of trying to capture the best song from the regional radio station and obtaining the work mangled by the DJ speaking more than the lyrics.  Designer Jeff Skierka has recaptured every square inch of that icon of the 80s and scaled them up into square feet — namely, to make what he calls the Mixtape Table.  An exact replica of the classic cassette tape, built at 12 times the size of the original, the table is made of Baltic birch plywood with a maple veneer, walnut “tape” and hand-finished with an oil rub.  Made in Seattle — but of course, the quite musical (albeit rainy) city that’s brought us every little thing from Jimi Hendrix, Pearl Jam and Nirvana to Death Cab for Cutie and Band of Horses — the tables are hand-assembled and entirely reversible, with an A side and a B side.  Standing atop hand-bent steel powder-coated legs, these quirky furniture pieces arrived on the industry in 2012, just in time to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the cassette tape itself.  Standing just below 18 inches tall and spanning 30″ x 47 1/4″ in diameter, each made-to-order table runs a cool $4950… meaning you’d much better sell an awful lot of girl scout cookies or operate added difficult on that paper route to take pleasure in one of these on your personal dime, kid.
